Description

This Harley-Davidson plain leather heat shield is made of beautiful buffed bridle leather.  It has a ply of split leather (Suede) on the bottom, so nothing can scratch your motorcycle. Both layers are glued together with industrial cement and stitched around the edges. Then we  emboss it with our butterfly design, leaving a border to add studs or a tooled border.

In order to install your Harley Davidson plain leather heat shield with butterfly embossing you remove your seat. Take your heat shield and let some lukewarm water run over the top layer for about 30-60 seconds. Line up the opening in the heat shield on the frame so the tang of the seat can insert into the frame. Put your seat back on. The wings will stick out at first, but will “relax” the more you ride your bike with it.

The care for your leather is very important as it can curl when it dries out. Treat is like your best pair or shoes with a leather conditioner that contains beeswax like “Aussie” or “Skidmore” from Fiebing. The beeswax will repel water and protect from the sun rays. Keep a close eye on the leather and give it the TLC that it needs according to the climate you live in.

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. I recently upgraded to a 2013 slim and couldn’t believe how much heat the 103 throws out! I am only 5’1″ and my thighs are closer to the engine than most and the heat was unbearable at every stop. I read some positive reviews about these crotch coolers and decided to try one. So glad I did! It made an immediate difference. I absolutely love the look of it on the bike, the quality is excellent (made in the USA), and the best part is it actually works great! I loved it so much the old man got one for his 2014 street glide and he was surprised at how well it works. Much better than those hoakie plastic heat shields. These folks really make a quality product! I highly recommend to everyone I know.

    I recently traded the trusty Dyna in on a new FLRT trike. Health issues have made my legs too unreliable to count on them at stoplights. Gotta say, now that I’m used to it, I love the trike. It’s good to be back on the road. Trouble with the FLRT was that that 103 engine is way hotter than any HD I’ve had in the past. A couple of weeks ago, my wife (riding pillion) and I were riding back to town from the mountains, and the southern heat about killed both of us, even when we were moving along at a good pace. I had read good things about the Captain Itch Crotch Cooler, so I ordered one. It arrived within days, and I’ve got to say it’s as nicely made as any leather I’ve ever seen. It fit the bike perfectly, and was quick and easy to install. Took it out for a long ride today in hot Tennessee August weather, and all I can say is “Wow.” Huge improvement. Great people to deal with, great product, great results. I’m a happy camper and can’t imagine riding without the Crotch Cooler

    All I can say is. Awesome. I am 5’3 and I ride a soft tail slim. The head on this bike is hot and right at my thigh. I just got this on Saturday and headed out Sunday. What a huge difference. No more burns. Easy to install. And I got my order in a few days. Thank you!!!

    I am a 5′ 2″ rider. I ride a 2017 HD Softail Slim. After checking out this web site and reading reviews of people with similar issues about the slim, I decided to order the plain crotch cooler. WoW! What a difference this product makes. Love it! Very effective and making the engine heat manageable. Highly recommend this product.

    Ordered a crotch cooler for my 2014 CVO Softail Deluxe, my husband has a 2001 Ultra Classic Electra Glide and he had a plastic heat shield. I offered to let him try my new leather heat shield (since it would fit his bike too) and was taking a 2000+ mile road trip. Needless to say, he’s not giving it back so I am now ordering a new one for my bike. He loves it and says it is way better than the plastic. As a passenger, I could feel the heat more but it’s not near what the driver would feel without one. Thank you for a very well made product that works great!

    I put a new seat on my FLSTN. The front was much narrower. My legs suffered from the heat, almost unbearable. I ordered my crotch cooler on Sunday, delivered by Thursday.
    What a difference it made! Now I can ride as for as I want to in comfort. And it looks good on the bike. Highly recommend!

    I have not gotten to ride yet but after installing this it has taken away any concerns i had about holding heat in on the back cylinder, it just isnt that bid, I am very happy with the purchase and cant wait to try it out.

    I recommend this heat shield to everyone that asks. Second one that I have purchased. Had one on my Road King and now have one on my Freewheeler (put the original one on my husbands Street Glide – he loves it too). Works great to keep the heat off of your inner thigh and looks great too. The leather is thick, you can tell there is real quality in this item and it will last for years. Well worth the price.

    It’s been a while since I’ve had mine on my 2016 SoftTail Slim S. I’ve loved it. Just got back from ride in Baja Cali with a friend i was visiting in Mexico.
