Harley-Davidson Heat Shield with Leather and Lace overlay, blue
Available for HD Touring Models and Softails, 500s and 750s. For Sportsters, please send us a picture of your bike with the seat off, so we can see how and where it attaches to the frame. After we get this information, you’ll get an email from us on how to proceed.
Description
This Harley-Davidson heat shield is made of beautiful buffed bridle leather, and has a ply of split leather (Suede) on the bottom, so nothing can scratch your motorcycle. Both layers are glued together with industrial cement and stitched around the edges. Then we put another layer of alligator embossed leather, leaving a border to add studs or a tooled border.
In order to install the heat shield you remove your seat, put the seat tang through the cutout and tighten your seat back down. Pretty simple.

AAHHhhhh! That tooled leather scent! Not only fit the bike like a leather glove(!), but looks like it came from the factory to match my paint. I’ve a 2014 Softail Deluxe CVO, and if you do a quick Google search for the blue version, you’ll see why the “Paisley print” of the tooling looks the part. Not even going to mention the thick, heavy duty, but soft leather that easily molded around the oil tank, and mounted to the bike so very securely. I had zero trouble getting the Saddlemen seat to lock back into position, only a little bump was needed to seat the hook into it’s place.
Right away, I took her for a test ride, and am now convinced that Harley has missed the boat by not making heat shields OEM. Which is a good thing, because no way could the MoCo make’em as beautiful, or affordable, like Captain Itch does!
